Drake is Catching Carson...
...in size
Drake has his 6 month check-up yesterday and boy, was he a charmer. He was babbling and cooing so adorably, that I had people poking their head around corners and in doors trying to find the baby doing it. When they found us, he DID NOT disappoint with his charming little smile and personality. In fact, when the doctor came in, she thanked me profusely for "starting her day with such a wonderful baby". She also said, "He is just perfect, look at him! I can tell you right now, he is great and I don't even need to look at him." Of course she did and everything was indeed wonderful, but it was nice to hear. He is also growing... A LOT
Weight: 20 pounds 11 ounces (Carson was 23 pounds at the same point)
Height: 30 inches...same as Carson was
There you have it, Drake is just as tall as Carson was, but a couple pounds lighter.

Yummy In Drake's Tummy
I just wanted to record what Drake was eating so I could remember the progression. I started feeding Drake solids at 5 months and this is how it has gone:
Applesauce/Rice Cereal
Peas
Carrots
Green beans
Squash
I have been introducing one new food a week. So far so good; no complaints from him. Next week will be sweet potatoes. I have also been making my own baby food and I feel really good about it. I feel like I am saving money and feeding him the best stuff possible. I am grateful he is a good little eater, it makes things a lot easier.

Carson-isms
I always love hearing the things children say. They are not programed to think a certain way like we sometimes are. Carson still thinks outside the box and has started to use his own descriptions of things and I wanted to share some of them...see if you can figure out what they are (I will put the answers at the bottom)
1 -"Mommy! Look what I found! It's a little DVD!"
2 -"Mommy, there is a pancake on your hair!"...and a few days later..."Can I touch the pancake mommy?" I have to admit, I had NO idea what he was talking about so I let him "touch the pancake" so I could figure it out.
3 -"Uh-huh-uh"
any ideas??????

1) A Sequin
2) The little bobbypinned poof that girls do right at the front of their hair. Without him touching my "pancake" I still wouldn't know.
3) Still have no idea if this yes or no :)
